National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) NACDL is the preeminent organization in the United States advancing the mission of the nation's criminal defense lawyers to ensure justice and due process for persons accused of crime. The site is designed as both an open forum for the discussion of criminal justice policies and practice as well as a private online service for members of NACDL. Families Against Mandatory Minimums Foundation (FAMM Foundation) A national organization of citizens working to reform federal and state mandatory sentencing laws that remove judicial discretion. To ensure equity and fairness at all stages of the sentencing process, FAMM also works to improve sentencing guidelines. Formed in 1991, FAMM has 20,000 members and 25 volunteer-run chapters across the country. FAMM does not argue that crime should go unpunished--but that the punishment should fit the crime. Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) was formed in 1988, and strives to be the unified voice of an inclusive criminal defense community to promote excellence in the practice of criminal law, to improve the criminal justice system at the judicial, legislative and executive levels, to ensure the integrity and independence of the criminal defense lawyer, and to promote the protection of the rights of individuals. Truth in Justice A non-profit organization working to free wholly innocent men and women convicted of crimes they did not commit, and to prevent wrongful convictions by educating the public regarding the vulnerabilities in the U. S. criminal justice system that make these miscarriages possible.
